About Mike

Get To Know Mike Garner

A native of East Tennessee, Mike Garner has a legacy that runs deep in the history of Gospel music. That legacy began with his great grandfather who sang and taught music schools throughout East Tennessee. His grandfather, Jerry Garner began singing in the 1950’s with various local groups throughout East Tennessee.

In 1967, Jerry Garner co-founded the Southern Gospel group, The Supernals.  Jerry retired in 1986 and his oldest son, Mark Garner has continued the legacy of The Supernals. Mike regularly sings and records songs written by his family. His two current CD’s include songs written by his grandfather, uncle, and one of his favorite writers, his Aunt Sherry.

Gospel music is such a vital part of Mike’s life and his dream was always to have a career in it. In 2003, he joined the legendary Gospel group, The Nelons as their road manager. He remained there until The Nelons took a sabbatical in 2005.  It was at that time that he began singing baritone with his family’s group, The Supernals. He continued to sing with them until joining Royal Vision from Elizabethton, Tennessee. He eventually worked for the Triumphant Quartet, before returning to The Nelons where he stayed until January 2020.

Having been called to preach at a young age, the Lord has been leading Mike to focus on preaching and singing. His services consist of preaching and singing, along with some humor and life history.

Mike and his wife, Deborah live in the west and travel all over America leading music events and church services.

Mike records exclusively for Declaration 212 Productions.
